Burn permit application

Below is a PDF of the Burn Permit Application.


 Applications are accepted Monday through Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. 


The BURN PERMIT is NOT valid until it is returned to you. 

Can I burn?

Step #1: Complete the BURN PERMIT application, pay the fee, and once approved move to Step #2.


Step #2: Check the current DNR Burning Restrictions by clicking HERE. This site is updated every 5 minutes. If there are no restrictions, proceed to step #3. 


Step #3:  Prior to burning with a valid permit, you must call in your permit BEFORE starting your burn on the day you are conducting the burn. Call (763) 479-0506.

Incomplete Applications will be rejected.

Please print and complete the application legibly, completely, sign, initial, and email to: 

westhennepin@westhennepin.com 

The application will be reviewed by staff, then emailed back to you once approved.


Permits are issued in one month increments and you can request multiple months.

Permit Fees are $10.00 per month

All Permits expire on December 31 of each year. 


Instructions for completing permit application. 

  • Date of Application
    • Enter date of submission
  • Permittee Information
    • Full Name of Applicant
    • If the owner is different, the applicant enter Representing Name. 
    • Address and Phone for Applicant
  • Burnsite Location
    • Physical Address of Burn
  • Burning Permit Conditions
    • Check box for type of burn 
    • Completely fill out the checked section
    • For Piled Material, circle fuel type, and you must enter # of Piles and Pile Size. example - # Piles 1  Approx. Pile Size 10'x10'
  • Sign and Date
    • Page 1 sign & date
    • Page 2 initial
  • Mail or drop off permit fee to WHPS
    • $10.00 per month of permit requested. (example: 3 month permit = $30.00)
    • Make Checks payable to West Hennepin PSD. 
    • Mail payment to West Hennepin PSD 1918 Co Rd 90 Maple Plain, MN 55359
